Warcross - Marie Lu

I LOVED THIS BOOK .. can I describe to you how much I loved this book.  I hated every minute I had to put it down, and there were a lot of minutes and things I had to put this book down for.  I read half of it in one afternoon, which I'm glad I had the time for.

I had no preconceived notions about what this book would be like before I started reading it - I went into it just knowing it was about gaming and hacking and a bounty hunter - I mean, all the words on the cover of the book pretty much.

Being a gamer myself this book was quite fun to read, the world that was created in the virtual reality format was superb, I wish something like that truly existed - I know we're getting into virtual reality now and have been for a bit but, this is totaly unreal!

I figured out who she was hunting before it was revealed so .. slightly predictable to me, but I didn't mind that at all, the ending was great and I didn't see that coming at all, and I can't wait for book 2, I will snag it as soon as it comes out, more please... more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  This is easily one of my favourite books of the year that I have read, a definite recommendation and 5* read

I Like You Like This

I had a chance to review the book I Like You Like This early.  I chose this book for reasons that are close to my heart - my my brother had struggled with drug addiction for years and I struggle with anxiety and depression and the book description just screamed - READ MEEEEEEEE.

We have Hannah who has a troubled home life, we have Deacon who.. although rich and wants for nothing, has his own version of a troubled home life, who come together one fateful day through a drug transaction (this book HEAVILY references drugs) - lots happens in this book.

This book was great for so many reasons - however, it didn't turn out the way that I had expected.  It was an emotional rollercoaster of .. well, it was all over the place but I loved it.  It was rough and it was sweet and it was cute and it was rough all over again, talk about taking you through the ringer.

The characters I though were written well, they progressed well together - the only part I did not like was there was no transition between mindsets - Hannah went directly into Deacon and I got confused as to who was doing the thinking at times - there was also another character mind we had come in at a later time that I was like, wait who is this now? If there was a little point between who was "thinking" that'd be great!  Overall a great read and highly recommend.

This book is being released on November 7, 2017.

Happy Reading!

For the Love of Sarah J. Maas

Now, I have just finished Book 2 in the Throne of Glass series.  Why am I so behind, yes I  understand I have missed that boat by many-a-moon.  But alas, her books give me the BIGGEST book hangovers and I have a hard time getting into the next book in the series.  Don't even get me started on her A Court of Thorns and Roses books (the struggle is real with this one) perhaps one book a year for me?  I know everyone raves about the books, etc. and the characters are cool, but all the story building and maps and energy my brain expresses just to read a book, sometimes it's just not worth it.

Granted, I did read Crown of Midnight in a day - it was fast paced (after the first 200 pages) and I did enjoy the end (damn her for making me want to read more).  But when will I pick up that book?

Just a rant.........random rant...........

Currently reading Three Dark Crowns - yet another book that has a **** **** MAP!!!!!!!!!
